Greenough Boulevard Improvement & Hell’s Half Acre

Greenough Boulevard hugs the Charles River from the Arsenal St to the Eliot Bridge. Jon has long supported narrowing the boulevard from four lanes to two and expanding the green space and multi-use path along the Charles. After years of advocacy on Jon’s part as well as many others, DCR broke ground on this project in summer 2015. In connection with the Greenough project, Jon secured funding to remove invasive vegetation and reconstruct the pathway in Hell’s Half Acre, which sits just west of the Eliot Bridge and is the last remaining marsh in the Charles River Basin.
