Anyone who rides the 71 or 73 from Watertown into Harvard Square or commutes through the Fresh Pond Parkway/Mt Auburn St intersection knows well that it is always jammed up. Jon is pleased that, thanks in part to his advocacy, a state study of the intersection will soon be underway. This is a key step towards improving the permanent traffic snarl at the intersection of these two roads. Particular priorities for the study include improving service on the 71 and 73 buses and making the Mount Auburn Street/Fresh Pond Parkway intersection safer for cyclists and pedestrians, many of whom are children walking to school.
